Our Puppies

Thank you for your interest in a Cavapoo from Cavapoo Kennels of Western New York. Below you will find info about our Cavapoos, the differences in our Standard Program vs. Premier Program, and how to get started.  As always, if you have any questions, please contact us

Why A Cavapoo?

Why a Cavapoo? Well, I can share what the “why” was for us.

We wanted a small-ish dog, a hypoallergenic dog, and a dog that was playful but also cuddly. In all my research, I kept coming back to the Cavapoo. The Cavalier brings the devotion and snuggles and the Poodle brings the smarts. In fact, the Cavalier temperament is like none other.

We also liked the size. They were big enough to be a “dog” but small enough that they didn’t take up a big footprint in the home.

And, once we brought our first one home, we were HOOKED!

About  Our Cavapoos

The pups we produce are typically between 12 and 20 pounds. In fact, even within the same litter, you can have a wide spread like that! When you marry two different breeds you can get a wide variety within a litter.

F1 pups typically have a soft wavy coat, with minimal shedding.

F1b pups can be curlier, but not always. They tend to be non shedding. Families with moderate to severe allergies tend to lean toward an F1b just to make sure they don’t have any allergy issues.

Introducing "Cuddle Cavapoos"

I would often hear how wives would want a Cavapoo for their temperament, but the husband wanted a larger dog, similar to a golden doodle. That eventually brought us to “Cuddle Cavapoos”. A breeder friend in Kansas was breeding small Standard Poodles to Cavaliers producing Cuddle Cavapoos. They would be larger, 20 to 50 pounds, depending on parents. It's all the amazing qualities in a larger package.

So we added a few moms to our program to produce Cuddles. We have had a great response.

"We waited close to a year to get our puppy, which worked out very well. Lisa was very accessible and communicated thoroughly. Our puppy was worth the wait! She’s only been with us for a little over a week but she’s basically 99% potty trained, knows how to sit on command, and sleeps through the night since day one. Not only does Lisa have a wonderful breed/variety of healthy dogs but also trains them well! She’s been great, can not recommend Cavapoo Kennels enough."

Current  Waitlist

Due to overwhelming interest, we typically have a waitlist.

The current waitlist for our Standard Program is 12-15 months. The current waitlist for our Premium Program is 8-11 months.

A word of caution, the only places offering “available” or “puppies soon” are puppy mills, brokers or scammers. Scammers have exploded during this year so please be careful in your search.

Standard Program

Here are the details of our Standard Program:

  • Current waitlist is 12-15 months
  • We raise ALL puppies in our home.
  • You are able to see, almost daily, pictures and videos of our pups and their moms.
  • We start crate training with your puppy at the age of 5 weeks. When your puppy heads home at 8 weeks of age he will have already been sleeping in his own crate for a solid week.
  • We start potty training your puppy, no matter the season. All pups will be exposed to potting in all weather. We also introduce paper training. This seems to help those who live in the city and a quick run to the back yard is not possible.
  • We create a routine for your puppy, so the transition into your home is seamless. We send home the routine so you can easily mimic it, making the transition easier for puppy and parent.
  • Part of our routine is exposing the pups to napping in their exercise pen AND crate during the day.
  • We focus a lot on health and nutrition. All our adults are fed a raw food diet and the pups are weaned on to it as well.
  • All puppies are seen by our vet and receive their first set of shots. The puppies all go home with their personal physical form from our vet.
  • You will be sent home with 1 zoom lesson with one of our 2 trainers we work hand in hand with.
  • Application fee is $300, $200 of which is refundable up until you are matched with your puppy.
  • Please contact us for more details on cost and to get the application process started.

Premier Program

Here are the details of our Premier Program:

  • Within this program you get everything in the standard program, PLUS:
  • Current waitlist is 8-11 months.
  • Pick of the litter. You would be able to avoid our normal, lengthy wait list and get pick of the litter.
  • The puppies will be seen by our vet 2x's. 1st at 7 weeks for a full physical and first set of vaccines and then again at 11 weeks prior to going home for another full physical and their 2nd set of shots.
  • Extended training, your pup will stay for an additional 3 weeks. We start all out pups with crate and potty training, yours will have an additional 3 weeks of that.
  • Your puppy will have been sleeping in its own crate for 4 weeks prior to going home.
  • We will be working on potty training and the use of an indoor system if you prefer. (some apartment owners prefer that, you will need to specify what system).
  • We have joined forces with 2 amazing local trainers that come to the home and work with your puppy at least 4x’s a week for the 3 weeks they are here, if their schedules allow we add in a 5th day. The trainers will send you a report on your pup along with videos of the training sessions. You will also have 1 zoom training session with one of the trainers once you are home with your puppy.
  • During the additional 3 weeks of training we will keep you apprised of the training and regularly send you updated videos of your puppy and its progress.
  • We will send you professional images of your pup throughout its stay.  We find that a lot of families like to keep a scrapbook of their pup from the day they were born until they come home.  The images also help the time go by a bit faster!
  • Application fee is $300, $200 of which is refundable up until you are matched with your puppy.
  • Please contact us for more details on cost and to get the application process started.
